First co-ed bath

Hailey and her cousin Corey had fun taking a bath together! This was also Hailey's first time sitting in the big tub without her baby tub. She did great...not one slip! Plus she's been so great at sharing her toys. Way to go, Hailey!

"Do I have to share my crib, too?"

Happy New Year

Jen's brother David and sister-in-law Eileen with their kids Dylan, Emily and Corey are visiting from Tokyo. We went out for a yummy dinner at Grazio Italian Grill.

Corey is 1 week older than Hailey. They're just about the same size!

"Who are all these people in my playroom?"

Good ol' papasan

Hailey decided to reminisce about her days in her papasan chair. She pulled it out of her brother's closet!

"I forgot how comfy this chair is ... although I remember it being a lot higher off the ground!"

"Ahh, I remember you, my old friend!"

Sesame Street

Hailey watched Sesame Street for the first time today and loved it! She was dancing along with Elmo. Her favorite bedtime book is still Elmo's bedtime book.

"See my new favorite toy?"

Tickle, tickle

Hailey is now ticklish!

Lonely tooth gets a friend

"See my second tooth? Right next to my first one...see it? No? Right here!"

"I want YOU!"

Indian food "coma"

Hailey had her first Indian meal today at Clay Oven. She was sweet enough to sleep snuggly in her stroller until we were done eating. Then she enjoyed some lentils, eggplant, rice, peas, egg whites and cantalope!

"I'm awake, but I'm too comfy to move."

Happy baby

"I love shopping!"

10 months old

Hailey's monthly pic with Mr. Bear. Barely got this shot since she moves so much. She's really good at cruising now, stands for a few seconds at a time, and can climb all the stairs with ease (eeks!). "Nai nai" (milk) and "Ma Ma" are her most common words, although "baby" is the most recent. She has one tooth (bottom center) with the one next to it on the way. She's wearing 18-24 month clothes and size 5 shoes. She's defintely getting louder and louder. She can throw tantrums (tears and all) at the drop of a hat...just take a toy away and see! But she can turn that frown into a smile in a second!

Christmas -- Take 2

Christmas #2: Celebrating with Mommy, Daddy and Mei Mei

"What? No, I didn't pull the ribbon off the tree...on purpose."

"Get this hat off me!"

"Are you in there, daddy?"

Christmas -- Take 1

Christmas #1: Celebrating with Grandma & Grandpa Shen.

"Oooh, sparklies!"

Of COURSE she likes ice cream

We went to Sushi Den. Grampa gave Hailey her first taste of ice cream...tempura green tea ice cream to be exact.

"Oh, that stuff is cold!"

"Yummy! Gimme that spoon!"

The aftermath: WAY past her bedtime ... someone's still not sleepy!

Wrapping is fun

"Bow? What bow?"

"Oh THAT bow!"

Making a point!

Okay, so this isn't the best photo, but I was trying to hurry and get a shot of Hailey's recent discovery this week...pointing! It's great because she points to whatever she wants (water, food, toys, etc.) Plus she can do it with either hand, although her left hand sometimes ends up being a pseudo-fist, but we get the idea.

"Look at that, mommy!"

Cozy shopping ... and more shoes!

Hailey took her first trip to Nordstrom Rack today. She LOVED the shoe aisle. Ben's worried about her girly tendencies toward shoes and jewelry. I think it's funny!

"What do you think of these accessories I picked out for my grandma?"

Friends!

My high school friends Terri and Alysa and her husband Ryan and kids Caylin, Kyler and Keaton (visiting from Omaha) came over to play. Hailey has never had so many people in her play room before!

"I like Auntie Terri because she gives me fun things to chew on. That and she wears cool necklaces."

Alysa wanted to hold Hailey but Hailey was drawn to Terri's necklace. So Alysa borrowed her necklace, and low and behold, it worked! Hailey's such a girl. Totally into jewelry and shoes.

"Gimme the phone please."

Keaton sporting Hailey's antlers. A crowd favorite.

Party at the Ritz

No, not a WUMCHA party. =) Ben's work holiday party was held at the Ritz Carlton downtown. Unfortunately the grandparents were booked up with a holiday party of their own, so at the last minute, we decided to bring Hailey to her first "Ritzy" affair. She had so much fun -- she wanted to inspect everyone's necklaces, girly shoes and pretty much anything sparkly. She's such a girly girl! Thankfully all the women she "inspected" were thrilled to see her. Hailey's 3-month old friend Nicole was there too, and we ended up having a private board room all to ourselves. Hailey was able to crawl around in peace so it worked out quite well. In our rush to leave the house, we forgot our camera, but hopefully the photographers at the party will send us some soon.

Toothy grin

Hailey has started to do this underbite grin to show off her (still) lone tooth. She has also started making some low growling noises. And she likes to lift her leg like a dog peeing when she's crawling -- and sometimes when she's standing. Hmmm...maybe she's been hanging out with Mei Mei too much...but no, Mei Mei squats when she pees!

Malaysian food

David, Linh and Alex came over to play for a night before they headed back to Seattle.

"Hey Alex, do you think we should make a break for it?"

We went to a yummy Malaysian restaurant for dinner.
Hailey, what are you looking at?

Standing!

Hailey stood for 8 whole seconds today! Didn't have time to grab the camera, but it was quite exciting. Not that I'm in a rush for her to be even more mobile than she is already!

New carseat!

Hailey's new carseat finally arrived! It was sad to say goodbye to her old trusty pumpkin seat and snap-n-go though. And if you're wondering why the seat is aqua, it's because it was on sale (arg).

"Ah, I can finally stretch out my legs!"

Santa!

After a long search, we finally settled on the Santa at Picture People in Park Meadows Mall. Hailey wasn't sure what to make of the big guy wearing her same outfit...

"Who is this guy and why am I sitting here? What? You want me to smile? Good luck."

"Ah, much better...lemme see that camera!"

"What do you think of my beret?"

This was the only picture that Hailey really smiled in. Unfortunately Ben and I vetoed this picture as our Christmas card because we both thought the two of us looked horrible.
"This is fun!"

Peek-a-boo!

Hailey loves playing with the blinds in her grandparents' house.

"Peek-a-boo!"

Food!

"Ahhh...what a buffet!"

Someone get me some gloves!

There's lots of snow in Vail!

"Like my snowman?"

"Are we having fun yet?"

"Why does this weirdo keep taking pictures of me?"
