11 months old
Hailey's 11-months old today! She's 25 lbs. and has outgrown her 18-month clothes. Those are 2-year pants she's wearing!
She has taken 4 continuous steps on her own (this week!) and her record for standing by herself is about 10 seconds. Most of the time she just cruises/walks while holding on to something) or crawls.
She now has 4 teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom. Her favorite snacks are Cheerios, cheese puffs and yogurt melts. She's pretty much eating what we eat these days, supplemented with formula of course! Grandma loves making her pork rice porridge with carrots.
Her favorite word is, "Hey!" which is usually accompanied by a pointing finger. She loves to stick out her tongue. She has definitely developed a strong sense of what she wants and doesn't want, and lets you know it. Her "no's" consist of her hand waving, head shaking side to side, leg kicking and a whiney "nnnnn!" She also says, "Yiiiiiiii!" and points when she wants something. She also gets very sad when she's yelled at, unless she knows that what she's doing is wrong. Then she laughs when I say "no!"
She's discovered the fun of picking up and dropping things for fun, which is great when she's helping me put clothes from the floor into the laundry basket! (Although usually she ends up taking it back out again.) She has also started opening and closing cabinet doors and drawers, which means we now have more baby-proofing to do.
Here's her monthly pic with Mr. Bear:

Romp N' Roll
Hailey took her first class at Romp N' Roll today. She loved the stuffed mascot dog "Rompy" and gave him a big bear hug. The class integrates playtime with play equipment and music time with singing, games and playing instruments. Her favorite activity was the bubble machine. She had a great time, even though it cut into her nap time. Mommy was EXHAUSTED!!!

Happy Chinese New Year!
Drop & pick up game
Hailey just discovered how much fun it is to drop things and then pick it up ... and repeat 20 times. So just give her a bottle of hand sanitizer and watch her entertain herself:

Don't yell at me
We went to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Hailey was so happy! That is, until she swatted our waitress on the butt (who was leaning towards the table next to us) and Ben and I said, "Hailey!" We didn't even say it that loudly, but boy, was she unhappy! Tears galore, and of course we felt terrible. This is the second such incident this week! The first time we were having dinner at home and Hailey threw her food on the floor and Ben and I both turned and said, "No!" So sensitive these days! Of course, when she's climbing the mantle or doing something she knows is wrong and I purposely try to say "no" sternly, she likes to turn to me and laughs!
"Here I am, all happy!"

Ouch!!!
Not such a good day today. I was carrying Hailey down the stairs when I missed a step (hard to see where I'm stepping these days!) and we fell a few steps to the bottom. Unfortunately Hailey's head broke our fall by punching a 3-inch hole in the wall (see pic). Poor girl! Thankfully the pediatrician said she was okay, other than being really scared and having a few scratches on her face. What a trooper ... and a tough head!
