Friends!

My high school friends Terri and Alysa and her husband Ryan and kids Caylin, Kyler and Keaton (visiting from Omaha) came over to play. Hailey has never had so many people in her play room before!


"I like Auntie Terri because she gives me fun things to chew on. That and she wears cool necklaces."

Alysa wanted to hold Hailey but Hailey was drawn to Terri's necklace. So Alysa borrowed her necklace, and low and behold, it worked! Hailey's such a girl. Totally into jewelry and shoes.

Party at the Ritz

No, not a WUMCHA party. =) Ben's work holiday party was held at the Ritz Carlton downtown. Unfortunately the grandparents were booked up with a holiday party of their own, so at the last minute, we decided to bring Hailey to her first "Ritzy" affair. She had so much fun -- she wanted to inspect everyone's necklaces, girly shoes and pretty much anything sparkly. She's such a girly girl! Thankfully all the women she "inspected" were thrilled to see her. Hailey's 3-month old friend Nicole was there too, and we ended up having a private board room all to ourselves. Hailey was able to crawl around in peace so it worked out quite well. In our rush to leave the house, we forgot our camera, but hopefully the photographers at the party will send us some soon.

Toothy grin

Hailey has started to do this underbite grin to show off her (still) lone tooth. She has also started making some low growling noises. And she likes to lift her leg like a dog peeing when she's crawling -- and sometimes when she's standing. Hmmm...maybe she's been hanging out with Mei Mei too much...but no, Mei Mei squats when she pees!

Malaysian food

David, Linh and Alex came over to play for a night before they headed back to Seattle.

"Hey Alex, do you think we should make a break for it?"

We went to a yummy Malaysian restaurant for dinner.

Standing!

Hailey stood for 8 whole seconds today! Didn't have time to grab the camera, but it was quite exciting. Not that I'm in a rush for her to be even more mobile than she is already!

New carseat!

Hailey's new carseat finally arrived! It was sad to say goodbye to her old trusty pumpkin seat and snap-n-go though. And if you're wondering why the seat is aqua, it's because it was on sale (arg).

Santa!

After a long search, we finally settled on the Santa at Picture People in Park Meadows Mall. Hailey wasn't sure what to make of the big guy wearing her same outfit...

"Who is this guy and why am I sitting here? What? You want me to smile? Good luck."

"Ah, much better...lemme see that camera!"

"What do you think of my beret?"

This was the only picture that Hailey really smiled in. Unfortunately Ben and I vetoed this picture as our Christmas card because we both thought the two of us looked horrible.

Fun with Alex and Gymbo

We drove up to Vail to meet Linh, David and Alex for the night. Hailey had fun with Alex, and learned what it'd be like to have a brother around!

Goodbye, trusty carseat

Hailey has officially outgrown her pumpkin seat. Sad. We ordered a new "big girl" carseat, but until it arrives, we are putting her in my nephew's old carseat.

Searching for Santa continued

Well, we went to Cherry Creek Mall today to check out their Santa. Pretty good looking, and has a cool sled and huge snow globe enclosure, but other people's pics didn't look that impressive...bad angles on the backgrounds. Sigh...the search continues. Hailey figured out how to open her tupperware of puffs and had about 40 puffs scattered all over her before we realized why she was so quiet in her stroller...

Searching for Santa

We decided to visit Park Meadows Mall today and check out their Santa. He had a really cool wood log cabin, but he was wearing a terrible outfit ... a green vest, green pants and red plaid shirt. Where's Santa's red outfit? It was all wrong. We'll have to check out a different mall for pics. Although the Santa at Picture People was pretty decent!

Ben finally put up gates on our stairs! Unfortunately now Mei Mei has a hard time getting through too!

Bobbing for strollers

We got a new stroller today! A B.O.B. Revolution Duallie. Yep, a handy second seat for my purse. =) Hailey tested it in the store...it obviously passed her comfort test since she fell asleep in it! Now we just have to get a carseat...

We took it out for a spin in our neighborhood when we got home.
